Streetly Tennis Club has a comprehensive junior coaching programme that caters for all ages and a wide range of abilities. Our aim is to maximise every players’ potential so, whatever your aspirations, there is a course suitable for you.

Ministarz

The Ministarz program caters for children aged 3/4 to 10 years old. The court size and speed of ball used in sessions is tailored to the age of the

 child and mini tennis stage. There are 3 stages in mini tennis: Red, orange and green.

Mini Red

For children aged 8 and under and is played on courts that are 12m by 6m with balls that are 25% of the speed of a normal tennis ball. The slower ball and smaller court gives children more time and a better chance to learn techniques and apply tactics that they may find impossible on a full court with normal tennis balls. Matches at this stage comprise tie-breaks to 10 points.

Mini Orange

For children aged 8/9yrs old and is played on courts that are 18m by 6m with balls that are 50% of the speed of a normal tennis ball. Matches at this stage comprise best of 3 tie-breaks to 7points.

Mini Green

For children aged 9/10yrs old and is played on the full size tennis court with balls that are 75% of the speed of a normal tennis ball. Matches at this stage comprise short sets to 4 games. Sometimes matches may be one set and sometimes best of 3 sets with a tie-break to 10 points as a third set decider.

Mini Yellow

For children aged 10/11yrs upwards. This is full court tennis with full speed balls as seen on T.V. Matches can vary from one short set to 4 games to best of 3 sets to 6 games with tie-breaks at 6 games all.
